The vibe you give off is easily picked up by visitors of your room, in an unconscious way they read you an you read them, work with that.
I always said “work smarter not harder” because working hard is exhausting and most of the time the fruit of your labor doesn’t quite satisfy your needs does it? So why not change a few things?
We all know that if we want to change something, repeating the same actions over and over again but expecting a different outcome is simply not possible.
So how to change the mood of your room?
As a webcam performer, your main activity is to “entertain” your audience and your end goal is to get tips, to earn, right?!
The thing is, and many overlook this simple perspective… as an entertainer you need a mask, a joyful personality to adopt in order to put a smile on your face even if the overall mood is not so joyful and that’s ok, we all have crappy days from time to time but how you sell that ?
Well, I’m sharing with you a couple perspectives, ideas which will help you gain self-confidence, more appeal, self-empowering and of course all that will translate or better yet, will align with your desire to get more tips because, believe me, a sour face generated a crappy mood in your room and no tipper comes to get emotionally drained but to have some fun and maybe blow off some steam…
Not once you found yourself in the position where some of your tippers landed on your room just to vent and brag…
Energetically speaking, this is exhausting for webcam performers because even if they don’t bring all to heart they still need to focus on some details and that’s wasted energy.
“Where focus goes, energy flows” – big industries know it, marketing knows it, institutions applies it, you should be aware too.
Performer’s Burnout
Don’t get familiar with this word because it is not something you will want to experience for yourself but yes, it happens to so many from the industry but “I have no choice, I need to pay bills” comes in play more frequently than I would hope for.
Signs of professional burnout
Having worked with individuals in this unique and often demanding profession for many years, since 2007 to be more accurate, I’ve observed distinct patterns and warning signs. Please understand that burnout is a process, not a sudden event, and these signs can be subtle or sucker punch you.
Here is a list of signs of professional burnout that I have frequently observed in webcam performers:
Emotional Exhaustion
- Persistent Feelings of Tiredness and Fatigue. This goes beyond normal tiredness after a long session. It’s a deep, heavy exhaustion that sleep doesn’t seem to fix it.
- Cynicism and Detachment. A growing negativity towards work, tippers (and yes more on freeloaders), and even the platform itself. This will generate a state which translates as emotionally distant and less invested in interactions.
- Irritability and Frustration. Increased short-temperedness, easily agitated by users, technical issues, or even personal matters.
- Feeling Overwhelmed. A constant sense of being overloaded with demands, expectations, and the pressure to perform. The escape, the tip rule this world so “no tips, no performance” becomes a policy.
- Loss of Enjoyment. Activities that were once pleasurable about this work (connecting with certain clients, creative expression, achieving goals) no longer bring satisfaction.
- Emotional Numbness. Feeling emotionally flat, unable to experience strong emotions, or a sense of detachment from own feelings.
Depersonalization
- Treating Clients as Objects. Viewing clients as transactions or sources of income rather than individuals.
- Increased Negativity Towards Clients. Developing critical, judgmental, or even hostile attitudes towards those they interact with.
- Social Withdrawal. Isolating themselves from colleagues, friends, and family, potentially due to feeling misunderstood or lacking the energy for social interaction except the hard work of self-promoting the activity to drive sales or traffic.
- Loss of Empathy. Difficulty understanding or sharing the feelings of their clients or others.
- Objectification of Self. Internalizing the objectification they may experience from clients and viewing themselves solely in terms of their physical attributes or performance value.
Reduced Personal Accomplishment
- Feelings of Ineffectiveness. A sense that their efforts are not making a difference or that they are not achieving their goals.
- Decreased Productivity and Performance. Despite putting in effort, they may find their output or quality of work declining.
- Negative Self-Evaluation. Developing a more critical and negative view of their skills, abilities, and overall worth.
- Lack of Motivation. Difficulty initiating tasks or maintaining enthusiasm for their work.
- Increased Self-Doubt. Questioning their capabilities and the value of their work.
Physical Manifestations
- Changes in Sleep Patterns. Insomnia, difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, or excessive sleepiness.
- Changes in Appetite or Weight. Significant weight loss or gain.
- Frequent Headaches, Stomachaches, or Other Physical Complaints. Stress-related physical symptoms.
- Weakened Immune System. Increased susceptibility to illness.
- Increased Reliance on Substances. Turning to alcohol, drugs, or excessive caffeine to cope with stress.
Behavioral Changes
- Procrastination and Avoidance. Putting off tasks related to their work.
- Increased Absenteeism or Lateness. Missing scheduled sessions or starting late more frequently.
- Making More Mistakes. Errors in communication, scheduling, or financial management.
- Withdrawal from Hobbies and Interests. Losing interest in activities outside of work that they once enjoyed.
- Risky Behaviors. Engaging in impulsive or risky actions as a way to cope with stress.
Of course all these can feel and manifest at different levels, some more subtle some more obvious but it is a good thing to, at least be aware of your state of being because, you know what… this is the only life experience you have where you carry this name, this body and this unique energetic signature.
Recover yourself
The process of recovery is not an easy one, it is… a process and requires the your acknowledgement.
Why acknowledgment is so important?
Because it removes the resistance to the healing process, to recovery, to recharging your batteries in a meaningful self-empowering way rather than doing shots , pills and coffee… scratch coffee, at this stage, coffee is just colored water.
So, first step is to acknowledge the state you are experiencing.
And that already proves the power you have because it tells that you have the courage to look within, to self-observe, to analyze your behavior, to see how you work, how you function, how you react based on emotional states and moods.
As I’ve mentioned, it is a process but the end result is a new you, more powerful, more confident, more aligned, productive, wise and of course… more successful.
Quick fix?
Of course there’s a quick fix and doesn’t involve any substances but it can alter your conscious mind if you are willing to dive a bit in meditative states.
It takes between 3 and 7 days to feel improvements and up to 21 days to stabilize the new you.
The exercise I share is breathwork and comes with a visualization to help you in this process.
(WebApp – more suitable for desktop, laptop, wider screens in general rather than small screen devices)
Take a deep breath in, hold for 5 seconds and exhale deep.
Take a second breath in through the nose, deep breath, hold for 5 seconds and exhale through mouth letting all worries, anxiety, subtle stress out, release with exhale breath.
While doing this simple exercise be aware of the air coming in through the nostrils, going down your throat (don’t laugh), going down filling up your lungs and pushing into the belly.
Keep your focus when exhale too and feel how your warm deep breath comes out and a relaxed state settles down.
You might notice an activation of your palms, a subtle heat can emanate, don’t worry, you might be what “healer” it is a natural process.
Use the visualization to help you get started, around 1 minute or so, after that, close your eyes and listen.
This is the Observer’s state, when we relax and simply listen or we are aware of whatever is happening or not happening within us and of course around us because when we exhale in a conscious way, our awareness also expands both within and without.
That’s the easy fix to distress the body and the mind by shifting awareness to a simple action which help us be alive, the berth.
Now, how to quick fix the emotional state?
Bashar has shared a beautiful mantra which I use it because I do understand the deep unfolding benefits.
Suggestion. Three times repeat this phrase, this affirmation before waking up from bed. should be the first thing you say to yourself.
I am who I am and that is enough
This mantra unlocks many energies and I will let you self-realize these states so you can self-empower by recognizing and understanding their meaning, their message.
